About The Film

Khudito Pashan (Bengali meaning of Hungry Marble Ruins) is a famous short story by Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore. The story revolves around a young Bengali tax collector, posted in Barich town of central India. He decides to stay inside a desolate ruinous marble palace, which is also believed to be a haunted place. Every night, he gets incrementally consumed by the resident spirits, who are all playing and practising their old roles. He finally meets his soulmate of the Mughal era, a beautiful Iranian woman whom he, as an Army General, had purchased for the pleasure of the Sultan, but fell in love with during transit from Persia to India. The man was banished for life, but the lady punished to solitary confinement – a few hundred years later she still awaits the return of the General she fell in love with.
