About The Film
“Based on a short story titled Pashapashi by celebrated novelist Banaphul,
Ektu Sore Bosun (Bengali title meaning “Please sit a bit aside”) is a Bengali comedy film.
Guddu is a village boy from a poor family whose parents desperately need him to start earning. Despite his mother’s efforts to motivate him with stories of his cousin’s successful career in Kolkata, but Guddu is too lazy. His best friend Alpin convinces him to clear up his family chest and run to Kolkata. There, Guddu meets his cousin Sphotik, who lives in a swanky flat with a pretty wife and two naughty kids. Though Sphotik doesn’t recognise him but Guddu blackmails Sphotik with cooked up stories of yesteryears in front of his wife and in a way forces his way into the family. Meanwhile, Guddu’s mother, along with a former headmaster and the neighbour’s daughter Piu (who is in love with Guddu), travel to Kolkata to keep an eye on Guddu. Meanwhile Guddu meets Rokeya, the head of a placement agency, who unsuccessfully tries to find him a private-sector job, but also develops a soft corner for Guddu. In desperation, Rokeya contacts a power broker who ends up betraying Guddu. Even Sphotik’s wife requests her husband to help Guddu find a job. Finally Sphotik informs Guddu that he himself has lost his job. Through these setbacks, Guddu learns that the only way out is to work hard and never lose hope.
